Junior College (Joint Admission Exercise) 2025
The 2024 GCE O-Level results are expected to be released between Friday, January 10 and Tuesday, January 14, 2025
The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) is an annual exercise conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE). It allows holders of the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level results to apply for admission to courses offered in the Junior Colleges (JC), Millennia Institute (MI), Polytechnics (Poly) and Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
The JAE usually takes place in January, after students receive their GCE ‘O’ level examinations results. JAE application is done through the Internet.

What are my options after receiving my O’levels Results or Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) examination?
We have provided resources for you to help you with your decision making.
What are the latest cut off points for JC in 2025?
Choosing the right junior college (JC) after your O-Level results is an important decision that can shape your academic future. You need to be realistic in your choices given the increasingly competitive JC admission criteria. Each year, we see narrowing of gaps and cut-off points becoming smaller for the top 5 JCs. Instead of just choosing a JC that you qualify for, consider other elements like school’s culture, the programmes offered and listen to what the alumni has to say. Visit the school during open houses, don’t just rely on hear say and what you read on reddit! Listen to what your tutors or school teachers have to share, some junior colleges (not the top 5) have a good reputation of giving very good academic support and resources to students. These may be the factors that you should consider too.
Which JC should I choose?
Think of factors like your preferred subjects, the college’s reputation such as CCAs and elective programmes. Ask yourself ‘What are your career goals ? ” and “What is the type of environment you thrive in? “Do you prefer a competitive or more relaxed environment?” You should also seek out tutors to help support you in this critical last leg of your academic journey. The rumours are real, A’Levels is one of the most challenging academic exam you will ever encounter in your life.
