What is the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum in Singapore?
The Cambridge IGCSE curriculum is widely recognised as the world’s most popular international qualification for students aged 14 to 16.
The IGCSE is a two-year programme offered to students in International schools in Singapore. Most students will embark on the IGCSE programme at Year 8. International Schools in Singapore like the ACS International School offers a general academic programme in Years 1 and 2 before allowing students to select their subject combinations for the two-year International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) at Year 3 and Year 4.
Why should my child take iGCSE?
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is one of the most widely accepted recognised and accepted credentials in the world. It is accepted worldwide. Most students take the IGCSE as a stepping stone to the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Year 5 and Year 6.
Some students in International schools may be keen to apply to local polytechnics in Singapore. With iGCSE qualifications, they can apply for diploma programmes at Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) in Singapore, provided that they meet the grades stipulated in the course admission criteria.
